The North Fork Music Legacy Fund

The Blue Sage Center for the Arts provides need-based tuition assistance and instruments for music lessons from ages 7 to 18 through The North Fork Music Legacy Fund.

  • We provide instruments for students who cannot afford them through The Blue Sage Musical Instrument Library
  • We match students (through an application process) with local instructors and provide scholarships for their lessons
  • We host recitals, showcases and space for rehearsals and lessons for young musicians at The Blue Sage

The North Fork Music Legacy scholarship program is for new and returning families and individuals. Scholarships are based on multiple factors: financial need, your interest in music, funds available, instructor availability, and the return of the application in a timely manner.

Please call the Executive Director at 970-527-7243 or email info@bluesage.org if you have any questions regarding your application.

Applications are now open for the 2026 program. Apply at the button below!

The Cocker Kids’ Foundation

The Cocker Kids’ Foundation, started by Pam and Joe Cocker, was a community supported foundation dedicated to supporting and aiding area youth and contributed over $1 million to youth-related programs and children of the North Fork Valley. Sean Barna, The Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia along with Gibson Guitars and several local sponsors are working to continue their legacy and build a program that will serve area youth in developing their musical talents.

By donating to the legacy fund, you will support young musical talent

Be a part of a legacy that supports youth music programs that develop talent in the North Fork!

In honor of the good work of Cocker Kids Foundation and in memory of the legendary musician and former North Fork resident Joe Cocker- The Blue Sage is launching a new youth program called the North Fork Music Legacy Fund.   The goal is to create opportunities for area youth in music education by providing instruments and instruction to kids who cannot afford to pursue their interest or talent in music.
